The case is part of 14 locally acquired cases announced today. COVID-19 response commander Jeroen Weimar said the case, as well as 10 other cases, was in quarantine for the entirety of their infectious period. Premier Daniel Andrews said “the trend is with us” for running the most recent outbreak to ground, which has put all of Victoria into lockdown until Tuesday, July 27. Mr Andrews said it was “difficult for us to say” if restrictions could ease next week. “It’s very difficult for us today, on Friday, to be able to predict what will happen next Tuesday at midnight,” Mr Andrews said.
