Boulder Economic Council executive director Scott Sternberg called the tech giant’s move “great news for Boulder” and credited the region’s higher-education and federally funded research institutions with fostering an innovative business ecosystem in which Apple wants to invest. The announcement constitutes an increase in Apple’s previously announced five-year U.S. investment goal of $350 billion, an announcement made in December 2018.
