APPROVED: Park and Ride plans for Southampton given go-ahead

PLANS for a park and ride in Southampton have been given the green light.
Civic chiefs have backed proposals for a park and ride at the Bargain Farm site in Nursling and said the facility will be the first of a network of park and rides across the city.
The service will link the western part of Southampton to the city centre and will run on weekends and in case of events in the city.
NHS staff will instead use it during the week.
It comes as University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is set to build a new health campus and a 1000-space car park at the site.
