HUNTINGTON — An architectural and engineering firm is suing The West Virginia Building alleging that the building and its owner owe more than $300,000 for renovations.
Alexander Vence was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Balzer & Associates entered into an agreement with the defendants in 2017 in which the firm would provide architectural services for the interior renovation of seven floors of the building, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
The firm claims additional tasks were added to the contract and the contract price was increased to $235,339.10. The firm claims it completed its contractual obligations to the building on Jan. 29, 2019, but the defendants have failed to make payments pursuant to the contract.
