Is Rhode Island seeing the start of a post-holiday surge in coronavirus cases? The Department of Health today reported 18 coronavirus-related deaths and 1,187 additional cases, with a single-day positivity rate over 9%. Monday was the first time in nine days that more than 1,000 people tested positive for the first time, and the day's positivity rate was the highest in three weeks.
