"Garish" electronic sign questioned in Remington

Those of us who love historic Remington question the recent appearance of a garish animated sign on our Main Street.
The electronic message center (EMC) sign flashes four different messages each minute:
• Please Wear Your Mask!
• Stay Six Feet Apart!
• Town Hall Closed 2/15 Happy President’s Day
• Water Account Past Due to Covid? Please call 540-439-2363.
These same messages may be found in the Town newsletter issued monthly with the water bill.
We have these questions:
• What is the need for this sign, and how does it enhance the lives of residents and visitors?
