Alphonso McCoy, 19, was arrested Thursday and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of 34-year-old Solomon Howard, police said. Howard's car crashed near the on-ramp from I-20 eastbound to I-75/85 on the morning of the 25th in Downtown Atlanta. Officers arrived around 5:20 to find Howard dead in the driver's seat from at least gunshot wound. The ensuing investigation stopped traffic on the Downtown Connector for much of the rush hour.
