By WMAY Newsroom Photo Credit: Illinois State Police 21 year old Jacob Mariacher of Niles, IL is being charged by the Office of the Christian County State’s Attorney Mike Havera with 1 count of Aggravated Battery, 1 count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and 1 count Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. Pana Police Department received a call right before 10am Sunday that a 17 year old male was shot during an altercation. The victim was taken to the hospital and is currently listed in serious condition. Mariacher was identified at a Taylorville Taco Bell in the 600 block of N. Webster St. and taken into custody at about 1:30pm. Bond on the charges has not yet been set.
