State Elections Director Remains On Leave
By WMAY Newsroom Apr 12, 2021 6:09 PM There’s no change in the status of the executive director of the Illinois State Board of Elections. Steven Sandvoss was placed on administrative leave last week after notifying Illinois State Police that he had been the victim of an online extortion attempt. The board said in a statement that it took the action out of an abundance of caution, while checking to ensure the security of computer systems to which Sandvoss had access.
