GATLINBURG The 2020 New Yearâs Eve show was sold out at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre, just as many performances have been since the downtown performing arts venue opened in 1977. The difference this time was that there will not be a season the following year. Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre closed permanently after its Dec. 31, 2020 show. Cast member Betsy Daidone confirmed the permanent closure and said that the New Yearâs Eve show was sold out. âSweet Fanny Adamâs is part of a rich tradition that has been a staple here in Gatlinburg since 1977. The theatre has played a major role in making family memories and traditions for visitors for decades,â said Mark Adams, CEO/president of Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau. âWe are deeply grateful to the McPherson family for being a valued partner in marketing and promoting tourism to Gatlinburg. We wish them well in their next act.â
