HENDERSON â Avis Daphne Sykora, 58 of Henderson passed away April 19, 2021, at home in Hillsville, Virginia. Ms. Sykora was born in Henderson to the late Paul Willie and Etta Virginia Davis Lambert. Avis leaves to cherish her memories her brother, Paul Warren Lambert (Catherine); companion, Linwood Ray Dickerson Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends. After graduating from Vance Senior High school, she enrolled in the U.S. Navy. Once her time was completed she came back home to Henderson, where she resided for many years.
