At solar farms, sheep come back for mower Solar grazing, the practice of using livestock to manage the grass that grows under panel arrays, has come to Maine. Share Sheep fatten up and keep the grass down at Maine's first solar grazing project, on Route 2 in Skowhegan. The sheep, from Crescent Run Farm in Jefferson, are working for South Portland-based ReVision Energy, which developed the 10,500-panel project to supply power to five towns. It's an example of how solar developers are trying to forge beneficial arrangements with farmers when they site projects on farmland, a trend called dual-use of agrivoltaics.
