The last two flights were operated between Vienna and Innsbruck on Monday, May 31st. The turboprop aircraft, including DHC-8-100 and 8-400, were part of Austrian’s fleet for almost 20 years. All in all, Austria’s flag-carrier operated 18 DHC-8-400 airplanes that have spent a combined 54 years in the air. From now on, Austrian’s fleet consists entirely of Airbus, Boeing and Embraer aircraft. However, there will be more aircraft retirements; in April 2020, the carrier announced that Airbus A319s and Boeing 767-300s will also leave the fleet.
