MOUNT HOLLY - A Hudson County man who traveled to Philadelphia for a cheesesteak has pleaded guilty to causing a friend's death in a traffic accident in South Jersey. Johnalex Grullon, 21, acknowledged at a court hearing that he'd been smoking marijuana prior to an October 2019 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Mansfield, said the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. Grullon did not refute toxicology tests that showed marijuana in his system at a level that left him unable to drive safely, the prosecutor's office said in a statement. The Union City man also admitted to driving recklessly when his Honda Accord veered off the highway, hit a guardrail and spun across all lanes before hitting a concrete median barrier, the statement said.
