Authorities investigate concerns for horse seen at MuleFest The Daily Herald Local authorities are investigating after concerns for a horse seen in last weekend’s MuleFest celebration swept across social media in recent days. A series of social media posts on various platforms showed photographs of a rider atop a very thin horse. The mounting inquiries about the horse and its seeming emaciation prompted a response from Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles, one of the event’s primary organizers. The Hohenwald Police Department's administration confirmed a message from Chief Kip Kelsey that the department launched an investigation into the matter on Tuesday morning. The police department is working in conjunction with the sheriff's department and members of a local humane society.
