If youâre having any symptoms of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), you should seek a test. But over the last month, fewer and fewer people are getting tested, leading to a sharp increase in the regionâs positive test rate, which reached its highest point since Jan. 23 on Thursday. Ballad Healthâs Chief Infection Prevention Officer Jamie Swift said itâs important people who are experiencing any symptoms â even if it seems like itâs just allergies â to get tested, especially with new cases rising at rates not seen since January. Swift âI think testing is widely available still, I think itâs just that people arenât going to get tested at this point, and so thatâs why I continue throughout this to try and remind people if youâre having symptoms to go get that test,â Swift said. âThe best thing we can do is know youâre positive, isolate your contacts and do that contact tracing and thatâs how weâre really going to keep this spread contained.
