The design of the Prince Avenue spot will incorporate adjustments that were made to other Barberitos restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic to account for the increased number of online orders, and streamlining the pickup process. Opening day will feature giveaways and prizes, including free burritos for a year. Specials and an appreciation month are also being planned for staff at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, across Prince from the Barberitos location. The company's recently-launched "Burrito Love" campaign is aimed at inspiring kindness and giving back to the community. "I'm a people person, and I've missed people," said Downing Barber, Barberitos founder and CEO. "I see people on the street as customers and as friends, and I've been randomly handing out free burrito cards. It really means a lot to them."
