Bay County law enforcement agencies say teamwork key to close child sex, drug cases

PANAMA CITY — When it came to closing a recent series of significant busts in Bay County, agency cooperation was key.
With homicides, drug busts and child pornography stings, local and federal lawmen have been busy working together to clean the streets during the past month. And that level of teamwork wasn't unusual.
At least, not for Bay County.
The relationships the different agencies have is unique to this area and other areas are "envious." said Panama City Police Chief Scott Ervin.
"Offenders don't just stay in one ZIP code, they don't stay within my city limits," Ervin said. "I think we are often envied. We've had visitors from other parts of the state that come here and are impressed on how good of a working relationship there is between the agencies."
