BayoTech and BIOVIC to jointly develop hydrogen projects in Spain The agreement signed today (9 th April) will see both companies pool their knowledge and experience around green hydrogen to promote synergies that support growth and mutual leadership in the renewable gas sector. BIOVIC, which specialises in biogas, biomethane and green hydrogen plants, is already carrying out multiple green hydrogen production projects in Spain centred around biogas and biomethane plants, or produced on-site using biomethane through the natural gas network. When the biomethane is sourced from slurry or manure, the resulting hydrogen can even have a negative carbon footprint. Luis Puchades, Director at BIOVIC, said, “Green hydrogen has important advantages since it can be produced at its point of consumption (ports, supply points, refineries or fertiliser plants) at a very competitive cost and with a low or even negative carbon footprint if its raw material is biogas.”
