Wokingham has the highest number of coronavirus cases in Berkshire as surge testing has been rolled out in the area. 17 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in Wokingham Borough on June 8, the highest in the county. There were 16 cases recorded in Reading on the same day. Meanwhile, eight cases of coronavirus were recorded on June 8 in Bracknell Forest. The news from Wokingham comes as the borough council began surge testing for coronavirus at testing centres in Shute End, Wokingham, Sindlesham Court and the Microsoft Campus in Thames Valley Park, Earley. The infection rate, expressed as the number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus out of 100,000 people, is going in the wrong direction.
