In a poll last week more than 2,900 of you had your say. The clear winner of the poll was South Swindon with 30 per cent of the vote. The area includes the town centre and Old Town (popular for its nightlife pre-Covid), as well as places such as the newly built Wichelstowe area and Coate Water. by John Baldwin In second place was 'Other' which included Royal Wootton Bassett, Highworth and Blunsdon. These areas successfully managed to bag 28 per cent of the vote, only narrowly being beaten by South Swindon. These towns and villages on the outskirts of Swindon are the most rural around the town and feature plenty of picturesque views with Highworth often being named as the 'gateway to the Cotswolds'.
