BHU lab starts test on Covid positive samples to determine Delta Plus variant | Varanasi News

VARANASI: The Multidisciplinary Research Unit of Anatomy department of the Institute of Medical Science-Banaras Hindu University has started testing the samples of Covid-19 positive cases to determine the variant, especially for Delta Plus.
Talking to TOI on Tuesday, the MRU head Prof Royana Singh said, “We have formally started testing Covid-19 positive samples to determine the variant especially for Delta Plus from Monday. Testing for Delta Plus variant has been started for the samples being sent here from the labs of east UP districts including Prayagraj after carrying out a pilot project in which samples of Varanasi and Sonbhhadra had been tested for finding the prevalent variants in the region.”
