Board approves requests for proposals for new fire station :

CHELMSFORD --  Plans are moving ahead for the new North Fire Station, with a request for proposals set to go out early in the new year. 
Fire Chief Gary Ryan said the Permanent Building Committee voted Dec. 21 to back the request for proposals, set for publication for prospective bidders on Jan. 6. 
A date for opening and review is set for Feb. 5, 10 a.m., Ryan said
Water district worries
Ryan said discussions continue with the North Chelmsford Water District, which has objected to temporarily relocating the fire station at the nearby public works yard.
