The city council has tentatively approved the design for the nearly $1 million monument that is a project of the American Public Works Association. The design, done for free by Abonmarche, consists of a low, 110-foot retaining wall with space on the river side for artwork representing public works. It also will provide various areas for sitting and viewing the Grand River near Grand Haven State Park.
