Premium Content Subscriber only CPR skills have saved the life of a boatie who almost drowned off an island east of Mackay. An RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said a helicopter crew attended the scene near Penrith Island in the South Cumberland Islands National Park, 75km from Mackay, on Friday afternoon. The spokeswoman said a person in their 40s had spent the day spearfishing and diving when the shallow near drowning incident occurred. She said there were four other people aboard the boat including two children.
