Boys' High beat New Plymouth to get back on track in Super 8

Boys’ High’s defence stood up to waves of New Plymouth attack.
Boys’ High missed a couple of penalties and a dropped goal which would have eased the pressure, before they were awarded a late penalty which Heaphy kicked to make it more comfortable.
Both sides struggled to move the ball, so it was a defence-dominated game, with Oudenryn making lots of tackles and carries.
Flankers Tom Illston-Park and Joe Simpson-Smith and second five-eighth Leo Gordon were other workhorses on defence.
Boys’ High are away this weekend against Tauranga Boys’ College.
Feilding High School’s hopes of reaching the Central North Island competition playoffs look to be over after a 38-10 loss to St Peter’s School from Cambridge at Feilding.
