The Standardbred Owners Association of New York is pleased to announce that the 2021 SOA of New York/Yonkers Raceway John R. Brennan Scholarship application and rules are now available. The Scholarship awards a $5,000 first prize, $3,000 second prize and a $2,000 third prize. The application deadline is May 31, 2021. Scholarship applicants must be a 2021 SOA of New York member in good standing, an immediate family member (spouse or child) of same, or an immediate family member of a backstretch employee (caretaker) covered by the SOA Welfare Plan. Applicants or their parents must have participated at Yonkers Raceway in the last 12 months as an owner, trainer, driver or caretaker.
