When Broadridge Financial Solutions announced at the end of May that it was buying Itiviti from Nordic Capital for $2.5 billion, the price tag caught some off guard. The fact that it was Broadridge acquiring the Swedish trading platform provider surprised others. But this is the way the market is moving: large banks, large exchanges, and large vendors are all trying to figure out how they can create their own front-to-back ecosystem for users.
