The telecoms firm has increased its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) target from 20 million to 25 million connections by December 2026. It comes as BT also announced its full year results, ending March 31 2021, with revenue dipping seven per cent to £21.3 bn. The announcement follows Ofcom’s recent decision not to impose caps on the wholesale prices fibre operators can charge for access, for at least ten years. BT’s commitment to hit 25 million premises by 2026 will support up to 7,000 new jobs, according to its chief executive Philip Jansen.
