Bui Power The Bui Power Authority (BPA) will, by the end of March this year, add 50 megawatt (50mw) of solar energy to the national grid. The innovation is backed by Parliament’s amendment of Bui Power Authority Act (Act 740), which enables the Authority to develop renewable energy and other clean energy alternatives in the country. The 50mw renewable energy source, which is part of the Authority’s 250mw Hydro-Solar Hybrid project, was announced on Friday during a brief media engagement in Accra. The Deputy Chief Officer of the BPA, Dr George Tettey, explained that the project aimed at assisting the government to achieve the 10% power generation from renewable energy sources target by 2030.
