Busy weeks for Warrington's shops and pubs as lockdown eased

PEOPLE flocked back to shops, pubs and cafes in Warrington during the first week of lockdown easing, figures show.
Location data from Google reveals that non-essential retail and recreation venues were much busier on Saturday, April 17 – the first Saturday since lockdown was eased – than the previous Saturday.
Although they were still far from reaching pre-pandemic levels.
The figures show average activity in Warrington's hospitality venues and non-essential shops was 32 per cent lower last Saturday than pre-pandemic levels.
But that was higher than on Saturday, April 10, when activity was 58 per cent below normal.
Banking firm Revolut also analysed data from 4,000 of its customers in Warrington between April 12 and 18, comparing it to the average weekly spend in February 2020 before lockdown started.
