A Cairo man was killed in a single vehicle accident shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday in Alexander County. State Police report 39-year-old Darryl Jackson was westbound on Illinois 146 over Bill Emerson bridge when he left the roadway to the right, struck a guardrail and overturned. Jackson was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
