Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Planning Commission has a couple of significant items on its meeting agenda Tuesday evening. Jill Maclean is Director of the Community Development Department. She said the consent agenda includes a modification to a permit for Sealaska Heritage Institute. She says they want to modify the permit granted for their arts campus by changing the entrance along Main Street. A member of the public or commission could request to pull it from the consent agenda for further discussion, she says. On the regular agenda is water line replacement on Calhoun Avenue downtown which has sparked a debate on the roadway's reconstruction. The Assembly rejected the Planning Commission's recommendation that the current design be scrapped and sent it back to the commission for further review. The Assembly also rejected the idea of a one-way avenue.
