The Calhoun Solar Center in Convis Township will soon be one of the largest single projects providing solar energy to people in Michigan. Consumers Energy will buy 140 megawatts of energy from the Convis Township solar center, which is enough to power about 70,000 residential customers. The project is being developed and built by Invenergy, a Chicago-based developer and operator of sustainable energy solutions. “We are proud to team with Invenergy as we continue to create a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Michigan,” Tim Sparks, vice president of electric grid integration at Consumers Energy said in a news release. “We are committed to protecting the planet while providing the energy our homes and businesses need for decades to come.”
