Kyle Still requested that a street on a New Plymouth development be named 'Wilson Way' after his grandfather, renowned developer Willie Still.
The family of a developer who died just after 2020 lockdown, have asked for his final project to be given his name.
Wilson (Willie) Still, of property business Westwill Properties, died on May 23, 2020, after a week in hospital. He was 93.
He had been taken ill while on the company's London Tce, Welbourn, site, shovel in hand.
On Tuesday, grandson Kyle Still told councillors and iwi members at the New Plymouth District Council Te Huinga Taumatua committee meeting that the family could not visit him in hospital due to Covid restrictions, and only 50 people were able to attend the funeral in person.
