Caltrain At its monthly meeting [yesterday], the Caltrain Board of Directors approved a contract extension to the Caltrain Operating Agreement with TransitAmerica Services, Inc. (TASI) to continue providing commuter rail service for the agency through June 30, 2027. The current term of the agreement is set to expire on June 30, 2022. The new contract extension allows TASI to support the construction of the Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project (PCEP) and the subsequent transition into operation and maintenance in an electrified environment. The Caltrain Board originally awarded TASI its contract in September 2011 with a five-year base agreement and an option for five one-year extensions. Those extensions were executed in February 2017.
