The heads of Saskatchewan’s two largest mining companies took pay cuts last year.
Cameco Corp. CEO Tim Gitzel’s total compensation fell by almost $500,000, to $6.54 million, while Nutrien Ltd. CEO Chuck Magro was paid US$12.21 million, down about US$155,000 from what he received in 2019.

Both men are among the country’s highest-earning executives. Magro placed 11th on the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ latest annual list of CEO earnings, while Gitzel came in 84th overall.
