Canal St. Waffle House sued after vomit on stairs causes fall

NEW ORLEANS - The Canal St. Waffle House is called to pay up in a personal injury lawsuit first filed in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court after a woman slipped on vomit on the diner's front steps.
According to documents filed on February 17 in Orleans Parish District Court, plaintiff Silvia Rodriguez visited the Waffle House on March 1, 2020. While leaving, she was unaware that there was vomit on the restaurant's entrance steps, so she slipped and sustained serious injuries that included spinal damage requiring an MRI, the suit says.
The Waffle House, along with its manager Brittany Robinson, are sued for the plaintiff's medical expenses and injuries. Waffle House removed the case to New Orleans federal court on April 5.
