The anti-vaccination conspiracy theories circulating online certainly don’t help with the natural apprehension many feel, and must be called out and countered, writes columnist Candace Avalos. But we also can’t automatically treat any person expressing fear and doubt about the vaccine as unreasonable, especially as it’s exacerbated by a health care system and political leadership that have failed so many Americans—particularly people of color.
