On the directives of the Government of Sindh, the provincial home department has issued the code of conduct for the collection of sacrificial animal hides in connection with the Eidul Azha festival to be celebrated in less than three weeks.
A notification issued by Dr Muhammad Usman Chachar, additional chief secretary (home), reads: “In view of the forthcoming Eidul Azha, there is a likelihood of breach of peace if some activities are not stopped.”
It said the provincial government believes that in order to maintain law and order, to prevent individuals and groups from acting in a manner prejudicial to public safety, and for peace and maintenance of public order, it is necessary to take immediate measures to prevent serious law and order problems.
