On the directives of the Government of Sindh, the provincial home department has issued the code of conduct for the collection of sacrificial animal hides in connection with the Eidul Azha festival to be celebrated in less than three weeks.
A notification issued by Dr Muhammad Usman Chachar, additional chief secretary (home), reads: “In view of the forthcoming Eidul Azha, there is a likelihood of breach of peace if some activities are not stopped.”
It said the provincial government believes that in order to maintain law and order, to prevent individuals and groups from acting in a manner prejudicial to public safety, and for peace and maintenance of public order, it is necessary to take immediate measures to prevent serious law and order problems. ....

People in Sindh cannot host parties or wedding ceremonies with more than 10 people, according to a new notification issued by the provincial government. A meeting of stakeholders decided that from Tuesday onwards not a single oil tanker would be parked in Shireen Jinnah Colony and the tanker trucks will go to the purpose built Zulfiqarabad oil Terminal.
Police will take action against violators, who park the oil tankers anywhere else except the designated terminal, said Sindh Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali said chairing the meeting on Tuesday, which was attended by the representatives of oil marketing companies, oil tankers owners association, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and other relevant senior officers. ....

The Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC) on Thursday organised a comprehensive training session for the probation and parole staff and other relevant government officials for providing support to young people in prisons and under probation in Sindh.
Speaking to the participants, Dr Muhammad Usman Chachar, the Sindh home department additional chief secretary, said the provincial government had been taking proactive steps to improve the criminal justice system and implement the laws.
“It is highly appreciable that the need is being realised for capacity building of probation staff and other linked departments to improve support for youth in conflict with law,” he said. Abdul Kabir Kazi, the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) managing director, said the provincial government was committed to uplifting and empowering the youth. ....
