SHOSHONI — Driver fatigue is being investigated as a possible cause for a fatal crash that killed a 75-year-old Casper man near Shoshone Thursday. On May 20, 2021, a fatal crash occurred around milepost 69 on US 20-26 east of Shoshoni, Wyoming. At 1:30 p.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were notified of a motor-vehicle collision. A 2000 Ford F-250 was headed east on US 20-26 when the vehicle entered the westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2002 Dodge Ram. Advertisement - Story continues below... The driver of the Ford has been identified as 75-year-old Casper, Wyoming, resident Stephen James Stewart. Stewart was wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
