CDC reduces Covid-19 quarantine recommendation to 10 days without symptoms The decision follows weeks of rumors, and a similar change by the WHO. FacebookTwitterEmail 2of14 5of14 7of14 13of14 14of14 The CDC recommended reducing the quarantine time following possible Covid-19 exposure from 14 days to 10 days without symptoms, and 7 days without symptoms and a negative test. “The recommendation made today is from extensive modeling not just by the DDC, but by other scientific institutes,” John Brooks, chief medical officer for the CDC, told CBS News. The agency still advises against unnecessary travel, especially during the upcoming winter holiday season, due to the virus’s increased transmission when indoors or with crowds of people. If you do have to travel, they recommend getting tested “1-3 days before… and 3-5 after, and minimize any movement between times.”
