CDC VAERS Database Paints a Different Picture on COVID Shots Posted on 05/04/2021 About 2 in 5 American adults are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data shows. Nearly 45% of U.S. citizens and nationals have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, and 32% are fully vaccinated from the main COVID therapies. 147 million people have received at least one dose in the U.S. The U.S. federal government created the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which is under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The system enables researchers collect data on vaccine after-effects and to detect patterns that may warrant a closer look. CDC cautions that VAERS results are not enough to determine whether a vaccine causes a particular adverse event. Proponents of the COVID vaccines, claim the data can be misleading and CDC has disclaimers on the data.
