Approximately 30 people marched to the Cecil County Detention Center (CCDC) near Elkton Wednesday night, in support of inmates seeking improvements to their living conditions. The protest, organized by Cecil Solidarity, involved several relatives of incarcerated people who said the CCDC does not provide adequate medical care and follow proper COVID procedures. âWe are here to be a voice for the voiceless,â said Christine Givens, president of Cecil Solidarity. âIf weâre not going to do it, who else is going to do it?â The group gathered at the county road that leads to the detention center before listening to several speeches, mainly by family members or partners of inmates who addressed the conditions at the CCDC that their loved ones described to them.
