Judit Puskas' greatest professional accomplishments are close to the heart. It's fitting, then, that when the Charles Goodyear Medal—the ACS Rubber Division's highest honor—is placed around her neck, the medallion rests right by her own heart. There are many reasons Puskas was the first woman chosen to receive the award, accepting it during the 2017 Spring Technical Meeting. Her list of professional accomplishments is long. Among those achievements, though, is the co-invention of a particular polymer, one used on the Taxus coronary stent, which has been implanted in the hearts of more than 10 million people, saving lives along the way.
