CHARLOTTE – Charter Communications, the Connecticut-based broadband company and cable operator behind the Spectrum products, is hiring more employees in North Carolina. The starting wage will be no less than $18 per hour for all roles, the company announced yesterday, and the company will raise its minimum wage to $20 per hour in 2022. The new hire target total is 270. “Virtually all current and newly hired salaried and hourly employees will now earn at least $18 an hour, including target commissions,” the company said. Charter established a $15 per hour minimum wage in 2018 and had previously announced last April that it would increase the hourly wage to at least $20 per hour for all employees in 2022.
