Apr 11, 2021 National Science Day is celebrated because of the discovery of Raman effect. This discovery was announced by the great scientist of India, Sir Chandrasekhar Venkat Raman on 28 February 1928. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for this discovery. National Science Day is celebrated on February 28, under the aegis of the National Council of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology, with a view to bring awareness in the society about the benefits of science and to inculcate scientific thinking.
