When is your road likely to be plowed by City of Reno Public Works during the upcoming storm? It depends where you live. The city’s streets are divided into three priority zones – Priority 1 streets, such as school zones, emergency routes, hospital zones and arterial routes, are plowed first. All lanes in Priority 1 streets are cleared by plows. Once all Priority 1 streets are cleared, the city’s 19 snowplows start working on Priority 2 streets such as bus routes and industrial areas. Plows will clear one lane in and one lane out. Once all Priority 2 streets have limited access, drivers will return and fully clear the Priority 2 roads.
