So heres what is delaying the senate. They went until almost 3 00 this morning to debate a bill that counters chinas influence after republicans derailed it. Senators looking to skedaddle this holiday weekend, they can take it up with wisconsin Senator Johnson whos staaling the bill. Debate will pick up where it left off, meaning a vote on the Insurrection Commission not expected until later today, and even when it happens, republicans almost certain to block it. We had some republicans on floor until 3 00 in the morning as the republicans have stalled whats known as the endless frontiers act, a bill aimed at increasing americas competitiveness with china. Theres a long way to go. Let me lay it out for you. Once they resume at 9 00 a. M. , they still have four votes on the china bill they need to get through. Thats going to then open up to 30 hours of debate. Now, were not expecting them to take that long, but republicans are expected to use eight hours of that debate. It could be faster, could be slower. Then theyll vote on that bill, and only then can they then get to the busy of the January 6th Commission. Thats going to need 60 votes. Its a test vote to see if they can move forward with that commission bill. We are not expecting it to get the 60 votes needed getting those ten republicans to support that bill. Instead, were expecting that to fail. And then, of course, it become as what happens next with the January 6th Commission, what does House Speaker nancy pelosi do, what do democrats do as they try to move forward. Of course, republicans have said they dont need additional inquiries, that there are already Law Enforcement investigations going, john, but democrats say this is pure politics, that republicans dont want this happening right around the time of those 2022 midterms, of course, when theyre looking to pick up majorities in the house and the senate. So bottom line here, john, expect a long day on capitol hill. Were still not exactly sure what time this vote on the January 6th Commission is going to happen. As you mentioned, theyre looking to be out on recess. They want their time off. There was a discussion about a January 6th Commission, but they want their time off. I condemn the breach, the violence, but to say there were thousands of Armed Insurrectionists Breaching the capitol, intent on overthrowing the government is simply a false narrative. By and large it was a Peaceful Protest except for there were a number of people, agitators within the crowd that breached the capitol. Thats really the truth of whats happening here. She needs to be brought in by the rupp leadership and try to be reined in if she can. There are some people in the workingclass community that she represents. Theyre still people coming to her and there are also people who are hurting. Its causing a greater divide. I will just add Republican Leaders are doing nothing because in order to come down on Marjorie Taylor greene, they have to inflict, go through a little pain themselves. Theyre not willing to do it. One, you saw Paul Ryan Last Night at the reagan foundation, and gaetz never mentioned the party of reagan. But at the end of the day you talk about those are grifters. Those were grifters who went up on the hill on january 6th. Those are grifter, at least 35,000 of them went through the Secret Service Magnetometer Ter to hear the president. Then you had a largescale number who didnt go through the magnetometer. They had backpacks and we dont know what was in those backpacks. There were tens of thousands of grifters on the hill, and you hear people like that, matt gaetz talking like that, people in power who believe they know what theyre talking about, they incite things that happened on january 6th as republicans were running down the hallway with democrats to go to safety. Which is all the more reason why we need to have the January 6th Commission, find out how this happened, who called them there, what the potential police shortcomings were, and how to prevent this from happening again. We need to look into it. What we need for the republicans to do to continue going forward, we need to keep the Trump Supporters and bring back the ones we lost. We need to keep the reaganstyle republicans who focus on policies. We need truth. Bottom line we need truth. Absolutely. There are so many lies being told. People are being ginned up.
